SUMMARY
The Quality Control Lab Technician performs sample preparation, testing, and reporting of material samples in support of exploration and production. This is a night shift position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Performs preparation, testing, and reporting of product samples per Quality Lab standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepares samples in the wet area, washing, drying, and screening.
- Tests processed samples to verify conformity to specifications.
- Data entry on computer, organizes, follows procedures, reports accurate results.
- Sets up, maintains, adjusts and operates lab equipment and instruments and contact vendors for troubleshooting issues.
- Maintains QC reports and logs.
- Properly prepares and stores retention samples.
- Performs method 9 stack test observations.
- Delivers supplies and laboratory specimens to designated work areas.
- Complies with safety standards and procedures.
- Works closely with Operations to ensure that the plant runs efficiently.
- Promotes continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Establishes and maintains effective work and communication relationships within departments.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma, GED certification and/or applicable job experience.
- 1 year experience working in a lab environment preferred.
- Basic math and statistics skills.
- General Computer use and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English at the needed level to safely and successfully perform job duties.
- Work is performed inside and outside of the quality lab.
- Position requires the ability to lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Position also requires standing for majority of the day, bending, stooping and crouching on a regular basis.
- Must be available on call during non-scheduled hours, if needed.
- Position is in Patricia, Tx.
- Position requires Valid Drivers License.
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Must pass a pre-employment, post-offer drug screen, physical and background check.
