Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair work on company equipment, including heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, and develop solutions to resolve them
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime
- Ensure that all equipment-related activities are carried out in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Manage relationships with vendors and equipment manufacturers, negotiating contracts and resolving any issues in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain equipment-related reports and metrics, and communicate equipment-related information to stakeholders
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in equipment maintenance and repair
- Travel extensively (cross-country) with overnight stays
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a construction setting
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
- Experience using equipment maintenance or repair software preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide for extended periods
