The primary function of an employee in this position is to work at City concession stands located at athletic fields and the City’s Aquatic Center.

• Assists park and/or Aquatic Center patrons with food and beverage needs
• Cash handling of concession funds
• Maintain concession and restroom inventory
• Maintain concession stands, equipment and restroom facility sanitation
• Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies and procedures
• Works in a safe manner and reports unsafe activities, conditions and faulty equipment
• Follows City-wide safety policy and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the City’s Loss Control Handbook
• Performs all other duties as assigned

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
• Must have a valid Missouri Driver’s License or ability to obtain upon employment
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Must obtain certification as a food handler through the Jackson County Health Department immediately upon employment

• High School diploma or GED equivalency
• One (1) or more years concession or food service experience
• Concession or food service supervisory experience
• A certified food handler through the Jackson County Health Department

Knowledge of:

• Food preparation and service
• Cash handling and reporting practices

Ability to:

• Count money
• Communicate effectively with customers
• Follow written and oral instructions
• Operate hand cleaning equipment including, but not limited to, brooms, dust and wet mops, squeegees, hand vacuums, dust pans, and dusters
• Communicate effectively with other employees
• Work a non-traditional and flexible work schedule

• The work is performed under the supervision of the Concessions Manager

• The primary duties of this position are performed in an indoor-outdoor public building environment and include use of electrically powered equipment and cleaning substances that may involve related hazards

• Sufficient strength to lift and carry objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds for varying distances, maneuver powered equipment
• Stand for periods of time as directed through the schedule, and to adapt to and move between work stations and job tasks on a single shift
• Sufficient body flexibility and balance to perform cleaning operations which require repeated bending and stooping motions
• Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Sufficient clarity of hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern and dispense verbal instructions and interact with the general public
• Sufficient visual acuity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to comprehend written material and instructions and discern, supervise, and react to physical activities
• Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to operate job related equipment
• Sufficient body flexibility, agility, and stamina to supervise recreational and sports activities and facilities.
