Weekdays 8:15am-4:45pm, and every other weekend with one day off during the week. Works well with school schedules and after school activities.
Responsibilities- Assist the team in preparing nutritious and attractive food in a sanitary manner to meet individualized nutritional needs and preferences of the people living and working at LSTC.
- Prepare regular and therapeutic menu items, following standardized menus and recipes; measure ingredients, chop, modify foods, and lift pans into and out of the oven.
- Learn and maintain a working knowledge of therapeutic diet and consistency change requirements; participate in orientation training, review of the Nutrition Diet Manual, and in-service training.
- Ensure all foods are prepared and held within safe temperature ranges; use thermometers, document temperatures, and reheat or cool further as necessary.
- Maintain exact measuring and sanitation techniques and preserve nutrient content as outlined in department, state, and federal policy and procedures to assure a safe, quality product is served.
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of similar food preparation and/or cooking experience is strongly desired
- Must be able to read and understand specialized recipes and dietary cards in English
