We are looking for an immersion Engineer for the 20km long Fehmarn Belt Tunnel Project (Denmark). As an immersion engineer, you will participate in the team responsible for floating up and/or hoisting approximately 90 concrete tunnel elements, equipping them in the port, and then transporting and installing them tially, you will assist in preparing for this operation by making ballast plans.
Later, you will be part of the operational team offshore, providing technical advice during immersion work.

Immersion engineering involves calculations related to:
- Floating up tunnel elements (weight analysis, ballast concrete and water, forces, stability)
- Transfers in basins and harbors (winch operations)
- Mooring of tunnel elements
- Transport to offshore locations
- Immersion processes (including dynamic analyses)
- Stability of elements post-immersion
This role can be based in Denmark full-time or on a 4-2 rotation.
- Coordinate with other departments within FLC regarding T&I scope
- Manage design scope between Work Preparations and the design team in the Netherlands
- Ensure design conclusions are incorporated into work methods, drawings, and manuals
- Liaise with Marine Warranty Surveyor and contribute to work procedures
- Advise during offshore transport and installation, monitor immersion, and handle contingencies
- Conduct checks and create lessons learned after immersion

The Femern Belt Tunnel project is one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects, creating the world's largest immersed tunnel connecting Denmark and Germany. It features an 18 km long tunnel, 9m high, 43m wide, enhancing trade and tourism in Northern Europe. You will play a crucial role in the immersion of 90 elements, each 217 meters long.
You will be based in Denmark, supported by the local project team and the Dutch design team from BAM Infraconsult, a highly experienced engineering firm with a dedicated maritime department.

Hier herken jij jezelf in
- Qualified civil engineer (hydrodynamics) or naval/maritime engineer with ≥7 years experience
- Experience with immersion of large structures or offshore lifting
- Strong understanding of stability, mooring calculations, and hydrodynamics
- Hands-on problem solver, decisive
- Team player with good communication skills
- Willing to work in Denmark, offshore, and undertake STCW training
- Fluent in English
