Are you an experienced CMM Inspector with a strong background in manufacturing quality and precision measurement?
We are looking for a detail-driven and technically strong CMM professional to join our Quality team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all products meet customer, regulatory, and ISO standards through accurate inspection, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining product integrity, supporting production, and driving quality excellence across the business.
The RoleAs a CMM Inspector, you will:
- Programme and operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) to inspect precision components
- Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T
- Perform First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions
- Ensure all inspection documentation meets customer and regulatory standards
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by defining and validating quality requirements
- Conduct in-process and final inspection to ensure compliance with specifications
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards
- Prepare documentation for external audits
- Maintain quality records and implement corrective actions as required
- Lead FAIR and PPAP activities
- Generate detailed dimensional reports using CMM software
- Verify compliance with customer specifications and industry standards
- Support customer and regulatory quality requirements
- Lead and participate in 8D problem‑solving investigations
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve design and tolerance issues
- Ensure components meet dimensional and functional requirements
- Monitor and report quality KPIs
- Participate in KPI reviews and drive corrective actions
- Promote and maintain 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support process optimisation across manufacturing
- Proven experience operating and programming CMM equipment
- Strong understanding of metrology and precision measurement
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings including GD&T
- Experience with PPAP, FAIR, and NPI processes
- Knowledge of ISO standards and Quality Management Systems
- Experience with 8D problem‑solving and root cause analysis
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing quality role
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field — or equivalent industry experience
- CQE, Six Sigma, or similar quality certification
- Experience with quality management software
- Project management or structured process improvement experience
