Typically, this person will be:
Production Manager

A proven leader from a composites manufacturing environment with strong knowledge Composite construction, advanced composite systems, and production management. Someone capable of driving quality, efficiency, and innovation while managing multi-skilled teams and ensuring a safe, well-run facility.

Key Responsibilities of the Composites Manager:

* Provide overall leadership for the all Composites on site, ensuring delivery against quality, cost and schedule targets

* Line manage supervisors, charge hands and team leaders, acting as the main escalation and communication point

* Monitor and manage workforce performance, addressing attendance, behaviour and capability issues where required

* Create, maintain and review short-term production plans, reporting progress, risks and delays to key stakeholders

* Champion process improvement and manufacturing best practice to enhance efficiency and product quality

* Contribute to tooling, mould configuration and build methodology to support effective production

* Coordinate workflow and resource deployment to ensure smooth project progression through the facility

* Control engineering drawings and production documentation, ensuring accuracy and revision compliance

* Identify staffing needs and support recruitment, training and development of the department

* Own Health & Safety and site operational standards, ensuring teams are fully resourced to work safely and effectively

Essential Skills &

Qualifications:

* Strong understanding of small craft & big build methods and marine tooling

* Broad hands-on experience with composite manufacturing techniques (infusion, prepreg, wet lay)

* Demonstrated leadership experience within marine or composites production environments

* Knowledge of manufacturing-led design and tooling development

* Experience applying Lean and continuous improvement principles

* Proven capability managing production operations with a strong H&S focus

* Clear and confident communicator with strong people skills

* Commercially minded with experience managing multi-project, production-led workloads

* Well-organised, delivery-focused and able to meet programme and budget commitments

* Competent user of Microsoft Office and project planning tools
