Description
Brinkley RV, a trailblazer in the RV industry, is seeking a 2nd Chair Engineer to join our team. The 2nd Chair Engineer will work within a dynamic engineering group to meet project goals and timelines. This position is responsible for supporting the lead product engineer & engineering team in designing, testing, and maintaining various products, systems, and records. The person in this position must be well organized, detail oriented, creative, and have the flexibility to handle multiple project assignments at the same time.
EssentialFunctions

- Assist in the design, development, and when necessary testing of new products and systems
- Conduct research to gather information necessary for product development
- Assist with the selection of appropriate materials and components for product design
- Work with other engineers to evaluate and improve existing products and systems
- Perform analysis to identify potential issues or problems with product design
- Document product design activities and update necessary records
- Collaborate with lead engineers to ensure products can be produced efficiently
- Support the implementation of new technology into products and systems
- Provide technical support to other departments, such as manufacturing or customer service, as needed
- 3D drawings and layouts using Solidworks in a manufacturing environment
- Ensure compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, construction economy and operating convenience
- Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings, and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality as observed in finished product audits
- Frequent contact and interaction with production, purchasing, and direct supervisor

Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, and/or lifting as much as 50 lbs. in a repetitive manner can be common.
The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and interaction traditional equipment found in a manufacturing plant environment, however, working outdoors is sometimes required. A good relationship with a presence on the manufacturing floor is required.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Weekend and overnight work is not required, but could be necessary based on project timelines.
TravelLocal travel between manufacturing facilities or vendors maybe expected for this position.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- High school diploma and/or related associates degree in engineering or specific discipline with work experience.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Adobe.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and prints in a manufacturing or service related environment.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Education and Experience
- 4 year degree in related engineering field
- Manufacturing/industry experience is a plus.
- Experience working with multiple discipline projects requiring FEA modeling.
