  • Serve as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the highest standards of child protection and wellbeing
  • Build strong partnerships with families, the community and external agencies
  • Lead school improvement with clarity, accountability and measurable impact

You will be responsible for ensuring the school presents a clear and accurate picture of its performance to stakeholders including the Local Authority, Estyn, and the Welsh Government.

We Are Looking For a Leader Who:
  • Leads with integrity, resilience, optimism and moral purpose
  • Has experience working within an independent ALN / SEN school association
  • Sets uncompromisingly high expectations for pupils and staff
  • Has a deep understanding of teaching, learning and curriculum design
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, staff and governors
  • Understands safeguarding responsibilities at the highest level
  • Can translate national policy into meaningful school improvement
  • Is politically astute and strategically focused
  • Champions professional development and succession planning
  • Is committed to continuous improvement and outward-facing collaboration
Safeguarding Commitment

The Head of School will act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, taking responsibility for safeguarding and child protection in line with statutory guidance. This includes working with external agencies and, where required, referrals to the Disclosure and Barring Service and the Education Workforce Council.
