Financial Controller UK

Are you a hands-on Financial Controller who enjoys owning the full financial picture of a business? For our UK legal entity, we are looking for a Financial Controller UK who takes responsibility, works independently, and likes to collaborate closely with both local and international stakeholders.

In this role, you are the financial backbone of our UK entity. You report directly to the Finance Director EMEA-AP and work closely with the General Manager UK and the UK team. Although you are responsible for the UK entity, your base is our EMEA-AP headquarters in Gorinchem (the Netherlands), where you are part of a close-knit and experienced finance team.

Responsibilities of Financial Controller UK

• You are responsible for the full accounting cycle and financial reporting of the UK entity. Your responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end responsibility for accounting and financial reporting of the UK entity

  • Accounts payable
    : vendor and intercompany payments, reconciliations, invoice processing

  • Accounts receivable
    : managing ageing, customer deposits, reconciliations, customer and intercompany invoicing

  • Bank reconciliations and FX management

  • Cash forecasting and cash flow management

  • Daily coordination with the Customer Care team on down payments, deposits, customer statements and customers on hold

  • Month-end closing
    : journals, accruals, project accounting, WIP management, P&L preparation and balance sheet reconciliations

  • UK payroll and related HR administration

  • Tax administration in collaboration with Tax Assist (VAT submissions, tax accruals, payments, audit preparation)

  • Annual audit preparation and completion together with PwC

• You operate independently, but you’re never alone — you work closely with finance colleagues across EMEA-AP and with the UK business.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or similar

• At least 5 years of accounting experience
  , including minimum 2 years working with a UK entity

• You are accurate, reliable and accountable

• A hands-on, result-driven mindset with strong ownership

• You enjoy working together and communicating with different stakeholders

• Fluent in English and Dutch (pré)

• Willing to travel occasionally to Leeds
