The Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer will support the operation of the manufacturing plant, all equipment and buildings, and ensure optimum production performance at all times. They will:
- Install and perform general and preventive maintenance on a range of production equipment.
- Respond to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant.
- Ensure machines and equipment are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose.
- Be involved with new design, installation and movements of existing equipment.
- Use a planned maintenance system day‑to‑day and take responsibility for working on own initiative during shifts.
- Utilise shift reporting to effectively and clearly communicate between shifts, the Engineering department and other departments.
- Use root‑cause analysis tools to investigate issues and breakdowns, documenting immediate containment actions and final counter‑measures to prevent re‑occurrence.
- Work a 24/7 Panama shift pattern.
- Respond to call‑outs and be available for potential overtime as required.

QualificationsTo be successful as a Maintenance Engineer you will need a healthy mix of the following:
- Recognised electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND level or equivalent).
- Electrical and/or mechanical engineering apprenticeship training.
- Proven pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical knowledge, including PLCs, three‑phase, inverters, control panels, sensors.
- Experience working in a continuous manufacturing process environment.
- Experience with TPM or other preventive maintenance systems.
- Conscientious, motivated individual with an enquiring mind.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good IT skills with experience on Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams etc.
- Knowledge of CMMS software or alternatives.
- Experience in writing SOPs/Method statements.
- Experience conducting formal risk assessments.
