We are looking for a Project Manager to initially lead Highways schemes around the Hull area. Ideal candidates have good access to the M62/A1 or M1. Responsibilities include management of site staff, operatives, sub‑contractors, and design coordination. You will provide method statements, hazard risk assessments, project plans, tender allowance analysis, programme monitoring, and contract management to ensure timely and profitable completion.
The role also involves fostering client relations, mentoring junior staff, and encouraging their career development.
- Management of site staff, operatives and sub‑contractors.
- Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans.
- Understand tender allowances and monitor contract loss against agreed budgets.
- Prepare and monitor programmes of work.
- Foster good relations and reputation with clients.
- Manage design co‑ordination and assessment of sub‑contractors.
- Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion.
- Supervise, mentor and assist in the career development of junior staff.
The successful candidate will have main contractor experience, preferably on flood defence, structures and highways/road schemes. They will be a team player with excellent communication, people, change‑management and delegation skills. Required credentials include a relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng) or equivalent, an up‑to‑date SMSTS qualification, and an appropriate CSCS card.
