To support the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy interventions across the Rehabilitation Ward (Ward
3) and Orthopaedic Elective Ward (Ward
6). The role requires autonomous practice within agreed competencies, alongside supporting registered clinicians in assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.

The post will involve assessments and treatments to optimise patients' mobility and discharge planning from hospital, working closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other assistant practitioners to meet the expected targets. Weekend working will be required.

Two positions available: 37.5 and 30 hour.

• Undertake delegated assessments and interventions for patients requiring rehabilitation following trauma, elective orthopaedic procedures, surgery, or deconditioning.
• Assist with functional and mobility assessments, including transfers, gait re‑education, personal ADLs, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Deliver individual or group‑based rehabilitation programmes as directed by qualified staff.
• Monitor patient progression, provide feedback to supervising clinicians, and adapt sessions within competency boundaries.
• Support early mobilisation pathways, including Day 0 mobilisation for orthopaedic patients.
• Complete treatment documentation accurately and promptly in line with Trust policies.
• Ward 3 – Rehabilitation focus: support patients with neurological, medical, frailty and deconditioning rehabilitation needs; implement strengthening, balance, endurance programmes; promote independence in ADLs, transfers, equipment use; participate in discharge planning.
• Ward 6 – Orthopaedic elective focus: support physiotherapy‑led enhanced recovery pathways for elective hip, knee, and other orthopaedic procedures; assist with pre‑and post‑operative functional assessments; carry out mobility training including safe use of mobility aids.

• Level 5 FdSc appropriate subject.
• Further qualifications in relevant clinical area.
• Significant experience working with people in a multidisciplinary healthcare/therapeutic environment.
• Experience presenting to groups.
• Evidence of caseload management.
• Use of System One.
• Access to transport and ability to travel within the required geographical area.
• Use of own car.

£27,485 to £30,162 a year pro rata.
