Student Welfare Officer and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Delta Academies Trust is looking to appoint a Student Welfare Officer and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join Goole Academy in April 2026 on a permanent, full‑time basis.
Salary Grade G Points 20 to 24 (£32,597.00 – £35,412.00 Full Time Equivalent). The minimum pro‑rata salary per annum for this role is £28,413.44.
Your New RoleAs a Student Welfare Officer you will work in partnership with families, parents/carers, students and external agencies to address under‑achievement, enabling students—particularly those most disadvantaged—to access educational opportunities and overcome barriers to learning and participation. You will work directly with families in a non‑judgemental way, empowering them to get the most out of the educational opportunities available. You will also support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in your role as Deputy DSL.
Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with families, parents/carers and students to identify and remove barriers to learning.
- Coordinate with external agencies to support student welfare and educational attainment.
- Assist the DSL in safeguarding duties and investigations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student welfare interventions.
- Participate in school teams to promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Support the implementation of the school’s welfare strategy and action plans.
