Account Manager - Role Overview

We are looking for an Account Manager to account manage and have overall responsibility for the retention, growth, account management and profitability of SME accounts aligned to the geographical location appointed.

Base Pay Range
  • Location:

    Humberside or South Yorkshire
  • Employment:
    Full Time and Permanent
  • Salary: £30,000
  • OTE Performance Bonus: £10,000
  • Company car or allowance: £400 per month
Core Responsibilities
  • Be the primary interface between Biffa and the customer, responsible for retention growth and margin, contract compliance and pricing negotiations.
  • Identify and target low net earning accounts to improve profitability.
  • Ensure all business within the portfolio has a signed contract, scanned and recorded.
  • Work closely with Customer Services to communicate administrative tasks and resolve them.
  • Collaborate with Operations to identify creative solutions to reduce churn.
  • Carry out site audits for SME accounts.
  • Liaise regularly with Depot Managers, Regional Managers and Regional Sales Managers.
  • Support the Depot in ad hoc projects or urgent priorities for SME customers in the area.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in effectively managing customer accounts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Tenacious, resilient, determined to succeed and prepared to go the extra mile.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong commercial background and awareness.
  • Ability to assess issues quickly and recommend or implement solutions.
  • Experience building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise.
