Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Renders individualized, age‑specific and direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. Supervises by assessing, planning, delegating and utilizing independent judgment in directing other healthcare employees. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to identify patient goals. Participates in hourly rounding and observes safety guidelines.
Responsibilities- Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, cultural, safety/risk and discharge planning needs on admission and ongoing basis.
- Determine nursing diagnoses based upon patient assessment and data analysis.
- Set realistic and appropriate patient population specific outcome goals.
- Individualize the plan of care based on patient needs and procedural complexities.
- Implement nursing and medical orders and assure they are appropriate to the patient’s current status.
- Participate in hourly rounding and observe safety guidelines.
- Other tasks assigned at the hospital.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Education:
Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school. - License/
Certifications:
Registered Nurse license in State of Arizona. - CPR and ACLS as applicable by facility or department.
- BSN and 1 year of acute care experience or new graduate.
- Certification in specialty area of practice preferred.
