ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS REHABILITATION & REENTRY – Print Shop Supervisor (Correctional Industries Production Supervisor)

Location:

Arizona State Prison Complex – Perryville, Arizona Correctional Industries, 2105 North Citrus Road, Goodyear, AZ 85395. Salary: $58,800.00. Grade: 19. Closing Date: 1/27/2026.

Job Summary

Do you have experience in the print production industry? Have experience supervising a printing shop? Join our team of workforce print production professionals. This position is responsible for ensuring that all products produced by any of the prison‑based industry programs are of quality, comply with required specifications, and are completed within specified time frames. The supervisor manages, trains, and supervises the daily operations and security of the prison‑based industry program, assesses processes, and formulates plans for improvement.

Job Duties
  • Plan work schedules, sequence operations, and distribute work.
  • Evaluate work and formulate plans for improvement.
  • Participate and lead in decision‑making.
  • Enforce security practices and daily sanitation in the area of responsibility in accordance with ADCRR policies and procedures.
  • Design and implement structured vocational training curriculum in prison‑based industry, emphasizing job readiness and industry‑aligned skills.
  • Provide hands‑on instruction in the safe and efficient use of industry‑specific tools, machinery, and production techniques.
  • Support workforce participants in developing soft skills such as teamwork, problem‑solving, time management, and communication to enhance employability.
  • Research and develop efficient production methods.
  • Partner with facility staff, educational providers, and external workforce development organizations to enhance training outcomes.
  • Identify and incorporate industry certifications or credentials where possible to increase post‑release job placement potential.
  • Ensure the program aligns with state/federal workforce development standards and reentry goals.
  • Supervise and train staff and inmates, including interviews, evaluations, discipline, daily attendance, work assignments, and payroll.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor, encouraging personal growth, accountability, and professional development.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to participants to track progress and identify growth opportunities.
  • Communicate with vendors, sales, and customers to ensure proper specifications and dimensions.
  • Communicate with security personnel and other operational divisions to ensure compliance with policies, resolve problems, and share information.
  • Monitor material usage, expenditures, and utilization of available resources for quality assurance and efficient operation.
  • Drive on State business as required.
  • Perform other duties appropriate to the assignment.
