Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer/Manager, Drinking water for our Arizona offices located in Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear
. This role will involve project engineering and management, and the development of drinking water projects throughout Arizona, the Southwest and across the country. You will be a part of the Hazen drinking water practice groups engaging and collaborating on drinking projects, and opportunities across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Your role will include project management, design, planning, operational support, and business development with a focus on drinking water projects.
  • Supporting and developing proposal development.
  • Helping to identify, hire, supervise and mentor junior drinking water staff.
  • Direct coordination and collaboration with clients.
  • Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
  • Managing projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements.
  • Following internal Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients.
  • Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small/medium/large projects.
  • Performing planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation.
  • Evaluate progress of the project staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overall project objective.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering.
  • PE license.
  • 12+ years of experience inmunicipal water treatment, reuse, water quality, water treatment technology, or manufacturing.
  • Experience in successfully delivering projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in all MS Office based computer software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Self-starter with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
