Provides strategic asset protection direction for a division of 2,300+ stores with sales volumes totaling +/- $5B. Maximizes profits by developing and executing programs to reduce and prevent the loss of company inventory/assets and managing Regional Loss Prevention Managers within an assigned geographical area.

People Management

• Provide supervision, training and leadership to Regional Asset Protection Managers. This would include the development and management of tactical skills, leadership abilities and overall retail business acumen.
• Assist in the development of Regional Asset Protection Managers, ensuring that developmental plans are created, implemented and followed to allow for career growth vertically and horizontally for direct reports.
• Through reverse engineering, provide oversight to complex investigations of significant value to ensure all areas of standard investigative principles are followed and investigations are brought to a satisfactory end resolving issues and mitigating risks.

Strategic Management

• Develop and manage strategic initiatives and projects in conjunction with multiple groups to produce gross margin and process improvements.
• Develop, manage, implement and follow-up on recommendations to Asset Protection and Store Operations leadership regarding methods to enhance gross margin and improve safety within assigned areas.
• Maintain frequent communication with Store Operations business partners to provide guidance and information on gross margin improvement, store safety and security matters.
• Monitor stores’ compliance with established policies and procedures; report compliance to Store Operations business partners and Vice President, Asset Protection. Manage the development of on-going solutions to address and resolve any compliance gaps.
• Manage the on-going development and execution of store asset protection audits; report results and recommendations to upstream and downstream business partners.
• Provide oversight and leadership to support all internal/external investigations.
• Serve as a community liaison with law enforcement, other retail groups, other asset protection and loss prevention departments, etc., to recover merchandise or cash, prosecute cases and facilitate restitution when warranted.
• Manage other strategic projects, as assigned, related to asset protection, gross margin enhancement, operational efficiencies and process improvements within the framework of Dollar General stores and the distribution network.

Training

• Develop, conduct and manage gross margin enhancement awareness training to field leadership and store personnel through a variety of mediums.
• Communicate store gross margin enhancement awareness by developing content for, teaching, and managing implementation of field meetings.
• Manage an awareness program to alert store personnel in the division of common asset protection issues which may impact their store.
