Overview

The Director, Digital Content is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and execution of brand content across all platforms. This role blends creative vision with strategic planning to deliver high-quality, resonant, and effective content that aligns with brand voice and business objectives. The Director oversees major campaigns and ongoing digital storytelling, bridging the gap between traditional advertising’s big ideas and content marketing’s focus on audience engagement.

They will partner closely with creative agencies, marketing, digital merchandising, and commerce teams. This leader ensures all creative output drives measurable impact and maintains cultural relevance. They will manage a team of UX/UI designers, content creators, content authors, copywriters, and QA resources.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Creative Leadership:
    Define the overall creative direction and vision for content across channels in partnership with agencies, digital and marketing teams.
  • Team Management:
    Lead, mentor, and coordinate internal creative teams and external agencies to deliver best-in-class work.
  • Content Strategy:
    Develop comprehensive plans for content creation, photography shot list, distribution, and performance measurement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Partner with Marketing, Site Merchandising, Ecommerce, and other departments to integrate content efforts into broader business strategies.
  • Execution Oversight:
    Guide concept development, production (video, photo, web, email, social), and delivery of campaigns and evergreen content.
  • Brand Alignment:
    Ensure all content reflects brand standards and resonates with target audiences.
  • Trend Awareness:
    Stay current with emerging technologies, platforms, and creative best practices to keep the brand ahead of the curve.
Qualifications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire creative excellence.
  • Deep understanding of brand strategy, marketing principles, and audience engagement.
  • Deep understanding of UX/UI design and product development.
  • Proven track record in content creation and team building within digital media, advertising, or publishing.
  • Expertise in creative development for multi-platform campaigns and digital storytelling.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
  • 8–10 years of experience in creative leadership roles, with at least 5 years in digital content strategy & execution.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams and budgets.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
