Position: Control Valve Repair Technician - Level 1 (1st or 2nd Shift)

Control Valve Repair Technician - Level 1 (1st or 2nd Shift) Job Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and assemble new control valves, reading and responding to sales orders and customer data sheets.
  • Safely disassemble valves and parts, including sliding stem valves, rotary ball valves, rotary butterfly valves, high performance rotary butterfly valves, bolted bonnet gate, globe, and check valves, soft‑seated ball valves, pressure globe and rotary valves.
  • Safely disassemble actuators, including double‑acting pneumatic sliding stem piston actuators, double‑acting pneumatic rotary piston actuators, single‑acting sliding stem spring and diaphragm actuators, and single‑acting rotary spring and diaphragm actuators.
  • Evaluate parts and maintain material awareness: mark parts correctly, organize and segregate inventory, perform chemical solvent cleaning as needed, and inspect parts to ensure critical dimensions are met.
  • Complete all quality control sheets, recording date, sign‑off, status, and other required information.
  • Understand and comply with all factory and customer requirements for assembly.
  • Perform selective machining tasks: drill stems for valve plugs using a drill press or pneumatic tools, and polish flange and sealing surfaces with a hand grinder.
  • Safely assemble control valves القي use repair order instructions, customer test‑report or specification sheets, and OEM IOM manuals. Perform calibration of all positioners and controllers.
  • Install stem packing and attach actuators to valves; set correct valve travel and bench set on actuator.
  • Tube up positioners and controllers to actuators efficiently, including any additional accessories.
  • Safely test control valves per applicable code test requirements, using compressed air, water, and nitrogen; complete thorough test reports with all required detail.
  • Tune, calibrate, and troubleshoot pneumatic and digital positioners and controllers (Fisher 3582, 3582I, 3610J, 3610JP, 3620, 3620JP, DVC
    6200, DVC
    2000, Fisher C1P, Fisher 2500) as per factory or customer spec sheets.
  • Disassemble and assemble new regulators and relief valves: direct‑operated and pilot‑operated types.
  • Perform spring, orifice, and body changes on regulators and relief valves, test all units, and set them to the desired set point.
  • Tag, seal, and prepare products for shipping. Prime and paint products, adhering to safety rules and paint waste disposal; protect tags and threaded areas during paintinginame.
  • Uphold JHC TCC (Total Customer Commitment) standards and enthusiastically support JHC colleagues.
  • Build and maintain solid relationships internally and externally; travel when required.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Education and Work Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years in the valve repair industry preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of control valves, pneumatic safety systems, and rotary valves.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer data spec sheets for final assembly.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial regulators, pneumatic positioners пользователь контроллеров used on control valves.
  • Skillful use of basic hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Self‑directed field/shop environment worker; experience with bending and running tubing preferred.
  • Can read and record measurements using standard tools (manual torque wrenches, dial calipers, Vernier calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, tape measure, scale).
