The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers courteously, treats fellow associates with respect, follows company best‑practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to be engaged in assigned tasks throughout all working hours and may be requested to perform additional tasks to help achieve our customer‑service and operational goals.
EssentialFunctions
- Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor, keeping egress clear and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and polite language.
- Assist customers – be register‑trained, help with merchandise, answer questions in a knowledgeable manner, and say “thank you” at every transaction.
- Handle customer issues promptly and courteously; call leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas.
- Maintain a professional appearance; adhere to the Company’s dress code.
- Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understand Loss Prevention Awareness, the Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock (MOS) policies and cash handling procedures.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps and touches in workflow.

- Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail environments.
- Use all store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC) as required.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store 100% of the work time.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $16.50 – $17.00. The range is dependent on experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is one component of total compensation; other rewards vary by position and location.
