This position will test opto-mechanical systems in accordance with manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, process documents, etc.) using a variety of hand tools, measuring devices, and test equipment.

• Align and test optical systems using interferometry, alignment telescope, and optical inspection devices.
• Work with assembly and inspection tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
• Perform environmental testing of opto-mechanical systems using thermal chambers and vibration machines.
• Document actions by completing checklists.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Perform general lab maintenance as necessary.

• High school diploma or 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar position/field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a progressive manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Optical alignment and test experience desired.
• Assembly experience desired.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and process instructions.
• Experience using standard hand tools – allen wrenches, screw drivers, torque wrenches, etc.
• Familiarity with computers as applicable to manufacturing.
• Solid quality‑minded work ethic and strong attention to detail.
• Collaborative interpersonal skills fostering effective group dynamics.
• Stamina: ability to stand for extended periods, often for most of the workday.
• Lifting: capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
• Mobility: ability to maneuver in tight spaces, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Manual dexterity required for tasks such as soldering, crimping, and fabricating parts.
• Vision and hearing: must have clear close‑up vision and be able to hear and understand speech.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
