Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Med/Surg position on a post-operative surgical unit requiring at least one year of nursing experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an inpatient post-operative surgical unit on the 2nd floor of a hospital

• Patient population includes post-surgical inpatients

• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am, working three 12-hour shifts per week

• Potential need to serve as charge nurse if required

• May consider 48-hour weekly contracts

• Coordinate and deliver clinical nursing care according to established standards and patient care plans

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and improve patient care

• Participate in professional development, unit goals, and quality improvement activities

• Perform bedside point of care testing as required

• Engage in patient and family education to enhance patient readiness and safety

• Expected to report for drug screening within 24 hours of acceptance

• Start date may be delayed if background check and drug screen results are not received on time

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a diploma, ADN, or ASN

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)

• At least one year of nursing experience

• Inpatient surgical experience preferred
