Overview
Easterseals PORT Health is a nonprofit service provider in North Carolina and Virginia seeking a compassionate Education and Outreach Specialist to join our One Community team in the South Central Trillium region. This community-based role increases access to care, health literacy, health awareness, and education by acting as a bridge between community members and providers. Responsibilities may require attending community events during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The position requires residence in Wayne County and travel to Wayne, Wilson, Greene, Lenoir, Pitt, and surrounding counties.
- Represent Easterseals PORT Health at community events to promote access to care and health education
- Serve as a liaison between community members and healthcare providers within the South Central Trillium counties
- Support the team by providing outreach and education across the region
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance health literacy and awareness
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Comfortable working with community referrals and maintaining attention to detail
- Must reside in Wayne County and be willing to travel to the specified counties
- High School diploma or GED required; valid NC driver’s license and auto insurance for work-related travel
- Hourly rate: 18
