** Description of Work
** This Correctional Housing Unit Manager II (CHUM II) position is located at the DART Center in Goldsboro, NC in the Department of Adult Corrections (DAC) Rehabilitation and Reentry section.

** This is a 300-bed men’s residential treatment facility responsible for the delivery of chemical dependency treatment services to probationers sent by the courts and parolees released from the State Prison System and transitioning back into the community. Rehabilitation and Reentry Treatment staff plans, administers, and coordinates chemical dependency screening and substance use disorder treatment services within the Department of Adult Correction.
This position provides support for and reports directly to the Human Services Program Manager II (Facility Manager) and in collaboration with other designated staff, assumes responsibility for the overall management of the residential housing. This position will serve as a Residential Housing Manager with a pivotal role in the development, review, implementation, and monitoring of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
Daily, this position provides leadership and motivation to the team, maintains attendance records, assists with investigations, approves leave schedules and conducts performance appraisal process. This position aims to ensure that staff are alert, properly trained, informed, and prepared to perform job responsibilities under a variety of conditions. This position is responsible for ensuring proper protocol is followed regarding security and maintenance of control of protective/security equipment, to include keys and radios, alarms, and camera systems.
To include proper assignments and training in the use of such equipment. This position prepares operational reports, memorandums, and documents such as Incident Reports, Accident Reports, Disciplinary Reports and Shift Narratives. This position assists in the development and implementation of resident transport schedules. This position description is not all-inclusive, and the supervisor may designate and assign other duties as needed which include audit preparation and compliance.
Work hours vary based on operational needs. Candidates must meet the requirements for Criminal Justice Certification, pass a background check and U.S.Citizenship.
