** Description of Work
** Health Care Technician II will serve as an on-the-job trainer, resource person, and mentor. Work involves knowledge and demonstration of all Health Care Technician I level tasks, duties, and responsibilities. The Health Care Technician II will spend much of their time in a mentor role and must be a problem-solver and troubleshooter. Work involves providing ongoing observation, interaction, and feedback to individuals under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

This position provides safe and basic care when transporting patients to and from external appointments as well as in the hospital.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30p but may be required to rotate to other shifts including day, evening and/or night shift. May require overtime. Requires reporting for duty in inclement weather.

* Must pass physical test prior to employment

* Ability to maintain a professional and even-tempered demeanor and work relationships
* Must have a valid Drivers’ License due to driving and transporting patients in a safe manner obeying all NC traffic laws

**** We Will Be Recruiting For Multiple Positions With This Post. Your Application Will Be Considered For All Noted Open Positions.
**** Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
** To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus,
* a* newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.

* * eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
* The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
* The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
* DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
