Description
This position qualifies for our UNC Health Wayne Incentive Program, which includes up to $10,000 commitment incentive.
The Staff Pharmacist is a member of the health care team whose specific knowledge and professional skills are directed toward the appropriate and effective use of medication in the treatment of the patients' medical problems. The Staff Pharmacist reviews medication orders for appropriateness, dispenses medications, and maintains required documentation. In addition, the Staff Pharmacist will consult with and provide drug information to other members of the hospital to ensure the correct use of medications.
ResponsibilitiesPyxis, Logistics, CII Safe, and other medication safety related automation technologies in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Education, Licensure, and ExperienceEducation Requirements:
- B.S. or Pharm.
D. degree from an accredited college/university of pharmacy required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in North Carolina or eligible for licensure. May accept a board eligible graduate for up to 120 days prior to licensure.
Professional Experience Requirements:
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in North Carolina or eligible for licensure. May accept a board eligible graduate for up to 120 days prior to licensure.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical pharmacy best practices, policies, procedures and regulations.
- Ability to serve as a positive role model who collaborates well with all teammates.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to all patients and teammates.
- Innovative thinking, self-initiative, planning and organizational skills required.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficient with MS Office applications, pharmacy software, and able to learn new software rapidly.
- Ability to tolerate latex products and exposure to hazardous drugs.
- Ability to stand or walk on uncarpeted floors for duration of shift.
- Exhibits knowledge and a basic understanding regarding the age specific needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric and geriatric patients.
