Financial Manager
Our client, a diversified and growing organization in the energy and industrial services sector, is seeking an accomplished Director of Accounting to lead financial operations, strengthen organizational infrastructure, and serve as a key member of the senior leadership team.
This role spans accounting, financial planning, budgeting, audit oversight, risk management, and elements of HR and administrative leadership. It is ideal for an experienced accounting executive who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys improving systems, and can balance both strategic leadership and hands‑on execution.
Financial Leadership & Accounting Operations- Oversee all accounting functions, including financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow management, AP/AR, and audit coordination
- Lead month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and review of financial statements
- Present clear, accurate monthly and annual financial reports to senior leadership and the board
- Lead the annual budgeting and planning process; monitor progress and provide timely updates
- Maintain and develop internal policies, accounting practices, and financial controls
- Direct the implementation and optimization of ERP and financial systems
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and support external audit/review processes
- Provide financial expertise during M&A due diligence, integration planning, and execution
- Supervise and mentor a small accounting and administrative team
- Collaborate with subsidiary operations to ensure alignment of financial processes
- Oversee payroll, HR policy administration, and key people‑related processes (recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews)
- Guide risk management programs including insurance, compliance, safety, and training initiatives
- Support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of HR and administrative functions
- Oversee safety programs and ensure compliance with all federal and local laws
- Review and maintain insurance coverage and ensure contract requirements are met
- Monitor worker’s compensation claims and safety data reporting
- Strengthen organizational risk management practices across operations
- Bachelor’s degree required; CPA or Master’s preferred
- Proven leadership of full financial operations for a company or division (ideally $25M+ revenue)
- Experience overseeing HR, payroll, or administrative functions a strong plus
- Energy, industrial services, or related industry experience preferred
- Strong strategic financial planning capability and ability to implement scalable systems
- Experience selecting/implementing software or ERP systems
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Experience supervising and developing a team
- Exposure to M&A financial due diligence is a plus
