Statement of Duties

Summary Of Job Classification Performs skilled administrative, customer service, and technical support work related to court operations:
Docket management, courtroom duties, case processing, managing the full life cycle of multiple case types within the Clerk of Court’s office. Works independently under general supervision and may guide newer staff.

There are two requisitions posted:
Judicial Clerk I and Judicial Clerk II. We will fill one position within this series based on the district's hiring needs and the qualifications and relevant experience of the selected applicant.

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. Functions assigned may be related to specific court room or clerk’s office responsibilities only or a combination of both.

  • Provides case management, customer service, and judicial officer support for clients, officers, and other judicial staff over the counter, in the courtroom, and via phone and email including filing, scanning, and uploading documents. Instructs customers on case types and procedures. Shares applicable information for law enforcement, attorneys, correctional officials, and other outside agencies.
  • Responds to customer s inquiries over the counter, via phone, email, and voice mail. Acts as liaison between division/Judicial Officer and customers, directs parties to correct location and/or divisions, de-escalates situations of stress or conflict, and explains court processes without providing legal advice.
  • Creates, processes, and manages electronic and paper-filed case documentation, including entering and tracking codes related to case status, processing exhibits, plea agreements, sentencing, restitution, court…
