At Loft, we empower our team with autonomy, ownership, and bold problem‑solving opportunities while fostering a tight‑knit, supportive environment. We believe that diversity, inclusivity, and community are the foundation of an open and innovative culture. We value kind, collaborative, and mission‑driven teammates who excel in problem‑solving and communication—because great solutions come from great teams.

Loft Orbital Federal is seeking a Capture Manager to serve as the operational engine of our Business Development organization reporting to the Vice President of Growth. This role is responsible for converting complex mission requirements into winning contracts across defense, intelligence, and civil space markets.

You will own the end‑to‑end capture and proposal lifecycle, ensuring that Loft’s expertise in payload integration, mission operations, and data analytics is translated into compliant, high‑scoring, and executable federal bids. Working in lockstep with customer‑facing directors, you will bring rigor and structure to a high‑velocity environment, aligning our technical capabilities and data‑centric strategies with critical national security acquisition objectives.

On a day‑to‑day basis, the Capture Manager may be leading multiple concurrent capture efforts, managing active RFP or RFI responses, shaping upcoming pursuits, coordinating subcontractor and partner inputs, or developing customer‑facing materials that support market research and acquisition planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute capture and proposal plans defined by customer‑facing directors and growth leadership
  • Manage day‑to‑day capture and proposal activities for assigned pursuits
  • Lead proposal planning, schedules, outlines, compliance matrices, and review cycles
  • Coordinate inputs across engineering, product, finance, legal, security, and program teams
  • Ensure proposals are compliant, compelling, and delivered on time
  • Integrate inputs from subcontractors, partners, and external proposal support
  • Track action items, risks, and dependencies throughout the pursuit lifecycle
  • Support RFI, RFP, RFQ, OTA, and other government solicitations
  • Maintain accurate opportunity and pursuit data within the CRM system
  • Support the transition of awarded contracts from capture to execution teams
  • Identify and implement improvements to capture and proposal execution processes
Qualifications
  • Seven or more years of experience leading U.S. Government capture and proposal efforts
  • Hands‑on experience managing federal RFPs from release through submission
  • Strong understanding of DoD and Intelligence Community acquisition processes
  • Experience leading large and highly competitive proposals, including SBIRs through multi‑hundred‑million‑dollar pursuits
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to produce high‑quality technical and management narratives under tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and compliance
  • Proven ability to manage proposal teams across engineering, finance, legal, security, and program management under tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders at all levels
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, aerospace, or a related discipline
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with space systems, satellite platforms, payload integration, or mission operations
  • Direct experience with SDA, SSC, DIU, DARPA, RCOs, or IC
  • Familiarity with SBIR and other non‑traditional contracting mechanisms
  • Experience working in a startup or high‑growth space company environment
