Job Description

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with eight or more years of experience in consulting engineering. The ideal candidate is a leader, self‑motivated, and thrives on helping our team and clients achieve success. In this role you will act as an Electrical Engineer with design and production responsibilities producing high‑quality work on small and large projects, a Project Manager with internal and external team responsibilities, a Client Champion providing excellent, responsive service for our clients, and an Employee Advocate collaborating, teaching, training, growing, and mentoring with other staff members while promoting our Core Values.

The position is responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm system, low‑voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control), etc. for bidding and construction across various projects. A strong technical background with excellent client relations and experience with project management and business development is required.

Office Location

Golden, CO – about 30 minutes west of Denver.

Desired Experience
  • 8+ years of experience with MEP design
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • PE registration required
  • Experience with internal and external project management
  • Experience in MEP design and specifications
  • Experience managing, maintaining, and creating Owner and Architect relationships
  • Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K‑12, and Commercial market sectors
  • Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
  • Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers.
  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication; lead and guide meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
  • Confer with other engineers and personnel to complete project deadlines.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles, research and design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
  • Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
  • Research and analyze clients’ design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.

Salary Range: $130,000–$170,000 + bonus. No sponsorship is available for this position.
