DescriptionJefferson County Parks & Open Space is hiring multiple part‑time positions for Event Staff/Tour Guides at the Boettcher Mansion and Lookout Mountain Nature Center. You will work at a historic wedding venue and the Nature Center providing tours, assisting with events, and delivering outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a dynamic environment, interacting with people, and ensuring exceptional experiences for guests.
Both buildings are located inside the beautiful Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve in Golden, CO. The Boettcher Mansion is a 109‑year‑old estate that hosts weddings, meetings, executive retreats, celebration of life services, and more. The Lookout Mountain Nature Center was built 1997, and offers educational programs and event spaces, as well as interactive exhibits of the flora, fauna, and wildlife in our foothill’s ecosystem.
This exciting position works to ensure the success of each event, working closely with the public in this historic and elegantly rustic setting. The ideal candidate is professional, genuine and friendly, and provides excellent customer service in every capacity using good, independent judgment and discretion as required.
This is a temporary non‑exempt hourly position that operates primarily on evenings and weekends, typically Thursday – Monday. Due to the nature of this position, the weekly schedule and hours mirror scheduled events taking place at the Boettcher Mansion and Lookout Mountain Nature Center.
Must be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 12 a.m. This is non‑negotiable.
CompensationHiring Range: $16.00 – $20.00 USD per hour.
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.
Essential Duties- Conduct engaging and informative tours for prospective clients.
- Assist with monitoring weddings and events to ensure smooth operations and compliance with policies.
- Assist customers in person and by phone/email. Provide information based on knowledge of programs, activities, and policies. Determine urgency, priority, and action necessary to serve customers. Route messages and referrals to other personnel as needed.
- Staff the front desk, greet visitors, and provide accurate information about programs, exhibits, and events. Provide onsite support and coverage for full‑time staff as needed.
- Maintain venue cleanliness and readiness for events. Perform opening and closing procedures to prepare for customers and ensure work area is secured and organized at close of business.

Minimum Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience in a customer‑facing role.
- Or any combination of education and experience.
- Experience with office equipment such as copy/fax machines, multi‑line phone system, computer with MS Word and Outlook as well as other computer software programs.
- Willingness to work independently while no events are being hosted. Must be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 12 a.m. Depending on the schedule, this employee could be the only employee on site s is non‑negotiable.
