Position SummaryThis is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of a Motor Grader and some other various types of construction equipment including but not limited to Roller, Motor Grader, Excavator, Loader, Water tuck, etc.
This position will require frequent Travel to other areas.
WAGE RANGE: $37 to $41 dependent on experienceEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interact with customers, interpret plans and drawings.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
- Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with crew members and input payroll time.
- Travel from interstate highways to rural dirt roads from various locations.
- May assist Laborer at various job sites as needed.
- May perform physical tasks involved with laying pipes and utility lines, and/or tasks involved with road construction and laying asphalt, etc.
- And other duties as assigned.

Education /Experience- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
- 1-2 years previous experience is required.
Work Requirements
- Regular Driver’s License Required
- A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but not required.
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check will be required.
- Knowledge of survey, grades, trenching, and shoring standards.
- Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
- Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
- Knowledge of dirt moving operations, placement of aggregates and fine grading (blue topping) experience in as grade control
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to work in constant exposure to the outside elements, in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.
