Senior Accountant

Description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Golden, Colorado. This long-term contract position requires an individual with strong attention to detail and a solid background in fund accounting and capitals. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of accounting expertise and a proactive approach to financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and execute month-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are properly recorded.

- Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

- Conduct thorough account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and bank statements.

- Manage fund accounting processes, including the tracking and reporting of fund activities.

- Handle accounting for capital assets, including depreciation schedules and asset tracking.

- Collaborate with internal teams to support financial audits and compliance initiatives.

- Analyze financial data to provide insights that drive decision-making and strategic planning.

- Develop and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements - Minimum of five years of accounting experience, with a focus on fund and capital asset accounting.

- Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

- Strong ability to prepare and post journal entries with accuracy.

- Experience in account and bank reconciliations.

- Knowledge of fund accounting principles and practices.

- Familiarity with capital asset accounting, including depreciation and reporting.

- Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify trends.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
