ResponsibilitiesThis position exists to provide a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all Perpich Center for Arts Education customers by performing general maintenance duties, regular and specifically assigned maintenance and repair activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Building cleaning duties for all areas of the agency building and grounds, including common areas, residential dormitory, lobbies, entries, elevator, hallways, and restrooms.
- Routine preventative maintenance on custodial equipment, such as minor repairs to vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, and floor scrubbers.
- Outside building work: cleaning entrances, sweeping, removing snow and ice, and emptying trash containers.
- Light maintenance of buildings, maintaining lighting fixtures, replacing light bulbs, and assisting in seasonal cleaning projects as assigned.
- Moving furniture and/or equipment within and between buildings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally while stooping, bending, standing, turning and/or moving. Able to work on a ladder.
Minimum Qualifications- Experience safely performing a variety of cleaning tasks and procedures.
- Understanding how to use cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, administrators, supervisors, and visitors.
- Experience performing janitorial and custodial services in a school environment.
- Experience in repairing and maintaining equipment.
