Director of Accounting

A well-established, mid-sized, professional services organization is seeking a Director of Accounting to join its finance leadership team. This 400-person firm partners with public and private clients on construction projects.

This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the CFO, with responsibility for leading accounting operations, strengthening financial processes, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.

• Oversee the full accounting and finance function, including payables, receivables, invoicing, and payroll
• Ensure financial statements and reports are accurate, complete, and prepared in line with GAAP and relevant compliance requirements
• Establish, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks
• Deliver leadership-level financial analysis, including trend analysis, forecasting support, and financial modeling
• Collaborate closely with planning and analytics teams on budgets, forecasts, and operational performance insights
• Provide financial support for strategic initiatives, including expansion efforts and potential transaction activity

• -Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
• Strong background in professional services or project-based environments preferred
