Sr. ACH Payment Ops Specialist – Choice Bank
This role can be worked from any Choice Bank location in Minnesota or North Dakota.
The Senior ACH Specialist plays a critical role in managing electronic money transfers through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network. The specialist ensures adherence to NACHA rules and accurate, reliable money movement.
Responsibilities include:
- Review detailed ACH files, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor and manage ACH exceptions, including research, adjustments, unauthorized transactions, and disputes (POAs, LOIs, WSUDs, etc.).
- Process ACH reclamations and research government payments on deceased accounts to minimize losses.
- Assure audit compliance and maintain procedure quality control.
- Recommend and initiate corrective actions to ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and applicable laws, NACHA rules, and regulations.
- Takes ownership of timely response and resolution of customer and bank personnel issues, maintaining smooth operations and mitigating service disruptions.
- Proactively contact branches and customers to provide resolution and explain account activity.
- Assist in department projects and identify risks/fraud related items, escalating appropriately.
- Monitor and maintain risk and exposure limits.
- 7 years of relevant experience with requisite competencies.
- Experience handling complex ACH processes and enhanced environments.
- Experience leading process improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
- Advanced understanding of ACH operations, NACHA rules, and compliance requirements.
- Expertise in ACH systems, risk monitoring, and exception management.
- Accountable for complex tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
- Uses judgment to resolve non‑routine issues and guide junior staff.
- Influences junior team members and serves as a subject‑matter expert. מ
- Acts as a point of escalation for ACH‑related issues.
- Provides training and mentors junior team members.
- AAP required; NCP and APRP preferred.
This position requires travel to support business needs'ar internal trainings and cross‑functional initiatives. Frequency and duration of travel will vary based on organizational priorities and team needs.
