Base pay range: $24.00/yr – $28.00/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
This position requires enforcing strict adherence to client requirements related to the safety and construction of natural gas pipelines.
What You Will Do- Enforce safety, compliance, and quality standards across all project sites.
- Learn and understand the basic federal, local, and company compliance rules.
- Maintain strong client relations skills and work respectfully with clients and other contractors.
- Organize and manage time effectively throughout the workday.
- Observe field work, verify and document federal, local, and company compliance.
- Inspect pipeline installation, joint fusion, leak surveys, back filling, compaction, trenching, and work.
- Monitor field activities for compliance with OSHA, PHMSA, state utility regulations, and client safety guidelines.
- Complete daily inspection reports on a company‑provided iPad, including photos, forms, time tracking, and expenses.
- Read and follow project plans and procedures; track materials and quantities; help ensure accurate maps and records.
- Assist onsite crews with job setup, coordinate with road construction crews, review plans, and discuss concerns with customers.
- Research records to guide crews and verify field measurements.
- Document pipeline installations with sketches, notes, and mappings for mains and services.
- Enter data and create as‑built documentation using Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and other programs.
- Use client systems to manage project information and communicate with engineers, designers, and field teams.
- Help schedule special services, emergency responses, and verifications as needed.
- Complete required training, including Operator Qualification (OQ) modules, in a timely manner.
- Stop work when unsafe conditions are identified and coordinate corrective steps.
- Ascend/descend into job site areas to complete inspections and data collection.
- Move materials weighing up to 75 pounds periodically.
- Position self to access tools and materials in various locations.
- Traverse job sites with uneven terrain, slopes, confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.
- Conduct visual assessments of task quality and job site safety.
- Remain in a stationary position for extended periods as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive a motor vehicle.
- Ability to pass pre‑employment and random drug testing.
- 1–3 years of experience with construction, underground utility installation, locating, surveying, mapping, and/or design.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, PHMSA, NESC, and state utility regulations preferred.
- Knowledge of 49 CFR 192 & 195 regulations preferred.
- Familiarity with operator qualifications and polyethylene joining methods preferred.
- AWS CWI or CPWI+V certification preferred.
- API 1169 certification preferred.
- Proficiency with mobile technology (iPad) for reporting and documentation.
- Knowledge of Data Fi reporting tools preferred.
- Work‑site conditions: comfortable working outdoors in all weather; reliable transportation; ability to travel daily within assigned territory; up to 50+ miles from home; capability to relocate midday as needed; travel over 50 miles may earn per diem.
- Typical work hours range from 40–60 hours per week, 5–6 days per week.
