Bookkeeper

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a professional services team in Godalming. The role focuses on managing financial records and supporting the accounting and finance department.

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Prepare and process payroll transactions in compliance with regulations.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements.
• Support the accounting team with month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and submission of required documentation.
• Provide support for audits by organising and preparing relevant records.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding financial matters.

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or as an Accounts Assistant for an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
