Overview
We are recruiting for a Roamer/Tramper HGV Driver to join our team, based at our Operation Centre in Gloucester, GL2 2SF
. Your home location will be Gloucester, but you will be required to travel to other operation centres to assist with holiday cover and increased workload. You will complete 3 to 4 overnights per week, for which you will receive an additional overnight allowance.

A Copart Roamer/Tramper HGV Driver collects and delivers predominantly accident damaged vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and conditions on our salvage transporters. The role can be physically demanding. Drivers will carry out internal and external checks on trucks and equipment, report any defects, photograph any damage, and inspect all collected and delivered vehicles. Drivers must comply with legal and company requirements of a professional driver and operate the vehicle and loading equipment safely and efficiently, following all H&S policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Collect and deliver vehicles on salvage transporters as part of servicing agreements for our insurance and automotive customers.
- Carry out internal and external checks on trucks and equipment; report defects and photograph damage as required.
- Inspect all vehicles collected and delivered; ensure safe loading and unloading practices.
- Comply with legal and company requirements for professional driving and adhere to H&S policies and procedures.
- HGV/LGV Licence, Class 1
- Current CPC
- Good understanding of EC Drivers Hours and Working Time regulations using a tachograph
- Driving experience in both rural and urban environments
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexibility
- Strong attention to detail
- Confident in the use of handheld devices and basic IT applications
- Adaptable with the ability to organise and adjust your working day
- Car transportation or recovery experience is advantageous but not essential
- Monday to Friday working
- Additional allowance of £3,000 per year plus an overnight allowance of £45 per night (£30 of which is tax free)
