Overview
Platform Property Care has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Multi Skill Carpenter based in Gloucestershire or Herefordshire to join our Responsive Repairs team to help us maintain and improve our homes.
What you will be doingYou will be ensuring our customers’ homes are maintained and repaired to a great standard. As a multi‑skilled trades carpenter you will carry out a range of maintenance works such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering, wall tiling, flooring and decoration, including major works.
You will work closely with the Localities Area Manager to manage jobs from inspection through to completion, and you will conduct post‑inspection once works are finished.
You will thrive on giving great customer service, keeping jobs on track and possess the drive to make sure the work is completed to spec. You will have full control of your job completion, including materials and liaison with customers.
The role is varied and no two days are the same. It is a tough task and our expectations are high, but in return you will have support from a great team.
You will be a team player, hardworking, keen to learn with a can‑do attitude. You will work in people’s homes, so you need to be friendly, approachable, with good communication skills and good organisational skills, recognising the importance of delivering quality customer service. You will own the work issued and focus on Right‑First‑Time delivery.
Qualifications and experience- Qualified in Carpentry and associated trade skills of Flooring, Plastering, Tiling and Decoration.
- Demonstrated expertise in these trades and ability to deliver and resolve a repair job from start to finish.
- Experience of delivering multi‑trade work.
- Qualified to at least NVQ L2 Carpentry.
- Good organisational skills and experience of keeping jobs on track.
- Personal drive to complete works quickly, efficiently and deliver right first time.
- Full driving licence essential as this is a mobile role; a van with fuel card is provided.
- DBS check required due to working within customers’ homes.
- Basic salary up to £37,845 per annum plus opportunity to earn more from out‑of‑hours and voluntary overtime.
- 25 days holiday plus opportunity to buy additional 5 days leave.

You must live in Gloucestershire or Herefordshire. A current valid driving licence is essential. Unfortunately, we cannot progress applications from applicants who do not hold this licence.
