Electromechanical Assembly Technician

£17.50 per hour + overtime at 1.5x

Mploy Group is supporting a specialist engineering business that designs, builds, and installs bespoke automated machinery and integrated systems. The company operates in a project‑led environment and is looking to add an experienced Electromechanical Assembly Technician to its close‑knit engineering team.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys building complex machinery, working across disciplines, and being part of a practical, delivery‑focused environment.

You’ll be primarily site‑based, assembling and installing custom‑built machinery, with periodic involvement in installation projects both in the UK and overseas.

• Mechanical and electrical assembly of special‑purpose machinery
• Installation, alignment, and commissioning support
• Working from engineering drawings and schematics
• Supporting build, test, and final integration activities
• Occasional participation in customer‑site installations

Overseas travel forms part of the role (approximately 30%), typically in short project blocks of up to three weeks at a time.

• Proven experience (5+ years) assembling or installing industrial electromechanical equipment
• Comfortable working across both mechanical and electrical tasks (bias either way is acceptable)
• Experience building machinery, conveyors, or automated systems
• Able to work confidently from drawings and specifications
• Willing and able to travel internationally when required

• Eligible for overseas travel (no restrictions that would prevent entry to the UK, EU, USA, or Canada)
• Holds a valid UK or EU passport
• Own transport required (site not accessible by public transport)

• Hourly rate up to £17.50, depending on experience
• Overtime paid at 1.5x
