Position: Tesco Shift Leader - Days Southgate Express

Availability Window

  • Sunday: 14:00–23:00
  • Tuesday: 14:00–23:00
  • Thursday: 14:00–23:00
  • Saturday: 05:30–23:00

Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12). Let us know if you’d like to work fewer hours.

The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work – the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll receive 3 weeks’ notice of the exact shift dates. We support flexibility: if your availability is close to what we advertise, we’d still love to hear from you.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do.

As a Shift Leader you’ll:

  • Work in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well‑stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Be there for customers, listening to them and helping ensure they leave with what they need.
  • Improve service through coaching colleagues and giving feedback.
  • Guide and support colleagues in‑store, ensuring a safe place to work and shop.
  • Maintain a great understanding of store performance and assist managers in delivering actions that improve operations.
  • Lead from the front and set a great example for your colleagues.
