Location: Gloucester Women’s Centre
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 35 per week (flexibility required)
Contract: 2 years Fixed Term
Pension: Auto-enrolment (6% employer contribution)
Are you passionate about empowering women to create lasting change in their lives? The Nelson Trust is seeking a committed, creative, and resilient individual to join our dynamic Women’s Community Services team as a PAUSE Practitioner. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference to women experiencing multiple disadvantage in Gloucestershire.
What you’ll do- Build trusting, tenacious relationships with women, offering practical and emotional support
- Develop and review bespoke support plans, empowering women to set and achieve their own goals
- Work flexibly and creatively to engage women, including assertive outreach and groupwork
- Collaborate with local agencies (sexual health, housing, mental health) to ensure holistic support
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, data recording, and reflective practice
- Contribute to the welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment of our Women’s Centre
- Relevant qualification and/or experience (e.g. social work, mental health, youth work, therapeutic practice, criminal justice, nursing, education, counselling)
- Experience supporting women or families facing multiple disadvantage (mental health, substance use, domestic abuse, etc.)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed, systemic, and strengths-based approaches
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding
