Operations Manager

Location: Gloucester

Pay Rate: £16.92 per hour

Contract: Temp to Perm

Hours: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm

Job Type: Full‑time, Onsite

We are seeking a Operations Manager to support production operations during a peak trading period. This role is hands‑on and involves leading the day‑to‑day running of a production shift within a food manufacturing environment. You will oversee a team responsible for preparing, baking, and packing products to high quality, food safety, and performance standards. You will ensure production targets are met, documentation is completed, and health & safety and hygiene standards are consistently upheld.

• Manage the smooth running of a designated production shift.
• Lead, motivate, and support the team to achieve KPIs and operational targets.
• Plan and coordinate labour and resources to meet production schedules.
• Monitor shift performance and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Ensure all products are manufactured and packed to high quality standards.
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and relevant audit requirements.
• Complete accurate production records and maintain up‑to‑date documentation.
• Promote excellent hygiene, housekeeping, and a positive team culture.

• Previous line management experience in a food manufacturing environment (bakery experience advantageous).
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, Food Safety, and compliance requirements.
• A collaborative and motivating leadership style.
• Highly organised with strong planning abilities.
• Confident communicator with good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
• Adaptable, proactive, and able to remain calm in a fast‑paced setting.
