Overview
Mechanical Fitter - Hydraulics & Pneumatics - Gloucester.
Location:
Gloucester. Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) + overtime. Type:
Permanent. Mploy Group is recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering organisation seeking a capable Mechanical Fitter to support the build and assembly of engineered systems within a controlled manufacturing environment.
- Carry out mechanical fitting activities across sub-assemblies and completed builds
- Assemble and integrate a range of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and associated system components
- Support end-to-end build activities involving fabricated assemblies of differing scale and complexity
- Perform general engineering tasks such as measuring, marking out, cutting, forming, and preparing components
- Install and route hydraulic and pneumatic lines
- Prepare components for joining and final fitment
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, layouts, and assembly instructions
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, alignment, and overall build quality
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality procedures, taking responsibility for personal and shared workplace safety
- Provide flexible support to the wider engineering team as operational needs require
Essential:
- Background in mechanical assembly, fitting, or production engineering
- Experience working from engineering drawings and written build instructions
- Practical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Confident use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Self-motivated with a logical approach to fault-finding and problem-solving
Desirable:
- Exposure to multi-discipline engineering environments
- Understanding of system schematics relating to hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrics
- Experience in regulated or high-reliability engineering settings
- Basic awareness of electrical assembly or schematic interpretation
- Market-aligned salary with overtime available
