Mechanical Fitter - Hydraulics & Pneumatics - Gloucester.

Location:

Gloucester. Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) + overtime. Type:
Permanent. Mploy Group is recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering organisation seeking a capable Mechanical Fitter to support the build and assembly of engineered systems within a controlled manufacturing environment.

• Carry out mechanical fitting activities across sub-assemblies and completed builds
• Assemble and integrate a range of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and associated system components
• Support end-to-end build activities involving fabricated assemblies of differing scale and complexity
• Perform general engineering tasks such as measuring, marking out, cutting, forming, and preparing components
• Install and route hydraulic and pneumatic lines
• Prepare components for joining and final fitment
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, layouts, and assembly instructions
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, alignment, and overall build quality
• Adhere to all health, safety, and quality procedures, taking responsibility for personal and shared workplace safety
• Provide flexible support to the wider engineering team as operational needs require

Essential:

• Background in mechanical assembly, fitting, or production engineering
• Experience working from engineering drawings and written build instructions
• Practical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Confident use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Self-motivated with a logical approach to fault-finding and problem-solving

Desirable:

• Exposure to multi-discipline engineering environments
• Understanding of system schematics relating to hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrics
• Experience in regulated or high-reliability engineering settings
• Basic awareness of electrical assembly or schematic interpretation
