Head of Company Commercial - Gloucestershire - Senior Management Team

Stroud or Gloucester (with hybrid working)

Salary: £65,000 to £85,000 (depending on experience)

A well established and forward thinking Gloucestershire law firm is seeking an exceptional senior corporate/commercial lawyer to lead its Company Commercial department. This is a rare opportunity to step into a strategic leadership role within a respected regional practice. You will shape the department's future, drive growth, mentor emerging talent, and ensure the delivery of high quality legal services aligned with the firm's commitment to clarity, approachability, and client focused service.

You will take responsibility for leading and developing the Company Commercial department while managing a high quality caseload of complex corporate and commercial matters, including:

• Mergers and acquisitions
• Shareholder agreements
• Commercial contracts
• Corporate restructuring
• Joint ventures and governance matters
• Advising SMEs, owner managed businesses, and high value commercial clients
• Driving departmental strategy and operational excellence
• Representing the firm at networking and business development events
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and support staff

This role is suited to a senior legal professional with:

• 5+ years PQE in corporate or commercial law
• A proven track record in business development and client relationship management
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
• Strong strategic thinking and leadership capability
• Excellent technical, drafting, and advisory skills
• A collaborative, approachable style aligned with the firm's values
• Confidence, ambition, and the drive to make a significant impact at leadership level
