This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, highly organised individual to help provide efficient secretarial and administrative support within the Medical Secretary team. The successful candidate will be a team player, a proficient audio typist and have excellent computer skills.
Applicants must be able to show excellent communication skills with patients and external organisations whilst building good relationships with colleagues.
The role can be either part-time or full- time, with a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Main duties of the jobTo provide secretarial services to the Practice.
To represent the Practice on the telephone, face-to-face and with written correspondence in a professional manner.
To communicate with patients and external organisations friendly and efficiently.
To keep administration and patient records in good order.
Assist other members of the Primary Health Care Team as necessary to ensure the Practice operates professionally and efficiently.

Jobresponsibilities
Main Responsibilities
Typing of all clinical and non-clinical administration fromthe practice manager, ANP, practice nurse, attached staff etc.
Record all contact regarding patients on the clinical system.
Complete fast track referrals via the ERS system.
Complete e-referrals and code accordingly.
Check for, chase up and action e-referral rejections.
Chase and follow up requests from patients and clinicians.
Systm One tasks to be actioned in a timely manner
Answer telephone and deal with enquiries relating to referrals, reports letters etc
Check and action NHS mail (both personal and practice)
To perform any other task as required, appropriate to therole of a medical secretary.
Provide other administrative cover as required.
Person Specification Qualifications- GCSE grade A to C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Typing Skills - RSA or equivalent
- NVQ or equivalent Medical Secretarial qualification
- Demonstrable commitment to professional and personal development
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Experience of using GP clinical systems
- Act with confidentiality and sensitivity
- Demonstrate good customer service
- Able to respond appropriately in difficult situations
- Accurate with attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure whilst retaining composure
- Quickly adapt to changing situations and multitask
