Job Summary
The post holder will provide a full and confidential administrative admission service to consultants and their teams for all of the Endoscopy departments at Gloucestershire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Assist with the Straight to Test bookings and cancer waiting list management. Communication with patients, consultants, secretaries, relatives, general practitioners and other hospital staff is also essential to help ensure a proficient service for patients and clinicians.
To assist with the training of new staff and provide cover for absence where necessary. To process data quality reports and ensure corrections are made as necessary.
Additional working pattern details:
Mon - Friday 8am-4pm, Converse with patients over the telephone providing sensitive information regarding their admission, preparation and resolving any queries which can on occasion involve dealing with people who have difficulty in understanding a situation or who may be aggressive or upset requiring sensitivity and use of initiative. Manage own workload to ensure all tasks are completed within a timely manner, together with working as part of the clerical team on a day to day basis.
